The "W" key suddenly stops working when working on
a laptop. Or the entire section of the key may depend on the response forever.
To make matters worse, the keyboard is completely cut. This is a tedious task,
but there are a few things you can try to get back to your job, especially when
you have a job. Without a functioning keyboard, the computer is useless. For
laptop computers, this is a big problem because you can't simply replace the
keyboard as you can on a desktop PC.
Computer maintenance should be a habit. However, the
problem can still raise the head. If your laptop keyboard stops working, here's
what you need to know and how to fix it.
Some reasons for the keyboard keys are not functioning are
the following
Reinstall or Update your keyboard driver:- Problems may occur with the driver that manages the keyboard, especially if you frequently install third-party software or if you always turn off the machine without using the Shut Down command. Open the Start menu and enter “Device Manager”. Press Enter to expand the Keyboard section. If a yellow exclamation point is next to any item in this section, it may indicate a problem. However, even if the exclamation point does not appear, it is recommended that you right-click the keyboard in this menu and select “Uninstall Driver”. When you restart your PC, Windows will automatically get a generic driver for the keyboard, which may cause the keyboard to work again.
Dirt and Dust in Keyboard:- Cleaning a standard keyboard is not easy. Cleaning your laptop keyboard is even more difficult. The keyboard requires some physical interaction to loosen up the dirt. This is generally easily achieved with a USB or wireless keyboard, but the situation is different on laptops. Basically, you can't simply shake and tap the back of the laptop without risking damaging the entire unit. However, you can remove dust and debris from your laptop keyboard by first shutting down the device, then turning it over and tapping the base. Then put your finger on all the keys while the device is upside down to remove any remaining dirt.
Reset Bad Connections:- Sometimes the keyboard loses its connection to the laptop's
motherboard and there are keyboards that work intermittently or not at all. For
IT professionals, it is easy to remove the outer box and reconnect the ribbon
cable at the bottom of the keyboard. If not, check the laptop manufacturer's
disassembly instructions at the laptop manufacturer's site so they can
reconnect the ribbon cable. If you do not like to disassemble the laptop, bring
it to a service depot so that professionals can see it. The laptop keyboard is usually a sealed unit, so you may be
able to clean the keyboard when you remove it from the laptop, but you can't
easily check the internal operation.
